Pillar[5]arene core is a rigid, cyclic structure consisting of five hydroquinone units, which creates a tubular cavity that can act as a molecular host. The pillar[5]arene core acts as a molecular host, capable of forming non-covalent complexes with small molecules or ions inside its tubular cavity.
