Description

Azidotributyltin (Tributyltin Azide) is an organotin compound characterized by the presence of three butyl groups attached to a central tin atom, with an azide group (-N3) as the fourth ligand. TBT-Azide can be used as a source of the azide group in “click chemistry,” specifically in azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions. This reaction is highly regioselective and can form stable triazole rings, which are valuable in pharmaceuticals and materials science. In addition, this compound can serve as a precursor for synthesizing various nitrogen-containing compounds. Upon reaction, it can release the azide group, facilitating the formation of amines, amides, and other nitrogen derivatives.
