The biotinylated Aβ (1-40) peptide is used to study the formation and deposition of amyloid plaques, a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease. Researchers can track plaque formation in cell cultures or animal models. When coupled with fluorescent streptavidin, the biotinylated peptide can be used for fluorescent labeling, allowing researchers to visualize Aβ (1-40) in tissues or cell cultures under a fluorescence microscope.
