Biotin (BK-1/39) PE refers to a specific biotinylated reagent that is conjugated with phycoerythrin (PE), a fluorescent dye. Phycoerythrin is a red fluorescent protein found in certain types of algae and cyanobacteria. It is widely used as a fluorochrome in flow cytometry and other fluorescence-based assays due to its high brightness and large Stokes shift, which allows for easy separation from other fluorescence signals.
