Description

Biotin-dT (5′-Dimethoxytrityloxy-5-[N-((4-t-butylbenzoyl)-biotinyl)-aminohexyl)-3-acrylimido]-2′-deoxyUridine-3′-[(2-cyanoethyl)-(N,N-diisopropyl)]-phosphoramidite) incorporates a biotin moiety into deoxythymidine (dT), allowing for specific and efficient binding to streptavidin or avidin, which are proteins with a high affinity for biotin. Biotin-dT can be used to label oligonucleotides, allowing them to be detected using biotin-streptavidin or biotin-avidin binding assays. This is useful in various types of assays, including Southern and Northern blotting, and in situ hybridization.
