Description

Biotin-Gastrin Releasing Peptide, human (Biotin-VPLPAG GGTVLTKMYPRGNHWAVGHLM-NH2) can be used to identify and localize GRP receptors on cells and tissues using streptavidin-conjugated fluorophores or enzymes. It can also be utilized to study GRP receptor expression in various cancers, aiding in the development of diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets. GRP is a 27-amino acid peptide with the sequence VPLPAGGGTVLTKMYPRGNHWAVGHLM, derived from the C-terminal portion of its precursor, pro-GRP. GRP acts by binding to the GRP receptor (GRPR), a G-protein coupled receptor, and has roles in stimulating the release of gastrin, regulating gastric acid secretion, and influencing cell growth, particularly in cancer cells.
