Description

Biotin-HRP (Horseradish Peroxidase Biotinylated) can be used in Western blotting as a secondary detection reagent. It binds to biotinylated secondary antibodies targeting the primary antibody used to detect specific proteins in a sample. The HRP enzyme catalyzes the chemiluminescent or colorimetric substrate, allowing visualization and quantification of the target protein bands. In ELISA, Biotin-HRP can be used to detect and quantify target antigens or antibodies. Biotinylated capture antibodies bind to the target antigen, followed by detection with Biotin-HRP. The enzyme substrate reaction generates a signal that is proportional to the amount of target present.
