Neurokinin A is a peptide neurotransmitter belonging to the tachykinin family, which includes substance P and neurokinin B. It is involved in various physiological processes, including neurotransmission, immune response modulation, and smooth muscle contraction. NKA binds to neurokinin receptors, particularly NK-2 receptors, to exert its biological effects.
