Biotin-PEG-Folate (Biotin-PEG-Folic Acid, Biotin-PEG-FA) is a compound where biotin is linked to folate (vitamin B9) through a polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer. Folate, also known as vitamin B9, is essential for cell division and growth. It binds to the folate receptor (FR), which is overexpressed on the surface of many cancer cells and certain normal cells. Biotin-PEG-Folate can be used for targeted drug delivery to cells expressing the folate receptor.
