Description

Biotin-PEG-hydrazide (Biotin-PEG-HZ) is commonly used for site-specific labeling and bioconjugation. It can react with aldehyde-functionalized biomolecules, such as glycoproteins or polysaccharides, enabling their biotinylation for subsequent detection or purification using streptavidin or avidin-based assays. In proteomics and protein chemistry, Biotin-PEG-hydrazide is employed for selective modification of proteins. By reacting with aldehyde groups introduced through periodate oxidation of glycoproteins or polysaccharides, it enables the biotinylation of specific protein sites for affinity purification or detection.
