Description

Biotin-PEG11-Gly-Gly-Gly-amine consists of several components: biotin (vitamin H), a polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain consisting of 11 units, and three glycine (Gly) amino acids terminated with an amine group (-NH2). Biotin-PEG11-Gly-Gly-Gly-amine can be conjugated to proteins or antibodies via amine-reactive crosslinkers (e.g., NHS esters). This enables site-specific biotinylation for applications such as affinity purification, immunoprecipitation, or detection assays like ELISA. In single-molecule studies, the long PEG linker reduces steric hindrance, allowing biotin-PEG11-Gly-Gly-Gly-amine to attach to proteins without affecting their function, facilitating detailed imaging and analysis.
