Description

Biotin-PEG3-SS-CONH-DBCO is a sophisticated reagent designed for precise bioconjugation and functionalization of biomolecules, surfaces, and nanoparticles. SS (Disulfide) bond is a covalent bond (-S-S-) that can be cleaved under reducing conditions, such as with dithiothreitol (DTT) or tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine (TCEP), to release the biotinylated molecule. CONH (Amide) is a functional group (-CONH-) often used for stable linkage between biotin and other moieties. DBCO (Dibenzocyclooctyne) is a cycloalkyne group (-DBCO) used in bioconjugation reactions with azide-containing molecules via copper-free click chemistry (strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition, SPAAC).
