Biotin-PEG4-SS-Alkyne is a heterobifunctional PEG linker that contains a disulfide bond. The alkyne functionality of Biotin-PEG4-SS-Alkyne facilitates its use in various click chemistry reactions for bioconjugation purposes. This includes conjugation to azide-functionalized molecules for generating bioactive surfaces, synthesizing biomaterials, or developing diagnostic assays. The SS (Disulfide) Bond is a covalent bond (-S-S-) that can be cleaved under reducing conditions, such as with dithiothreitol (DTT) or tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine (TCEP), to release the biotinylated molecule.
