Description

Biotin-PEG4-sulfo-Maleimide can be used to immobilize thiol-containing biomolecules onto surfaces or matrices functionalized with biotin. This strategy is commonly employed in the development of biosensors, microarrays, and protein immobilization matrices. Sulfo-maleimide is a reactive functional group that selectively reacts with thiol (sulfhydryl) groups (-SH) to form stable covalent bonds. This reaction, known as a Michael addition, allows for site-specific conjugation of the biotin-PEG4-sulfo-Maleimide compound to proteins, peptides, or other molecules containing thiol groups.
