Description

(+)-Biotin-(PEO)4-propionic hydrazide is a chemical reagent combining a biotin tag with a PEG spacer and a propionic hydrazide group. Biotin is a vitamin with a strong affinity for avidin or streptavidin, making it useful for specific labeling, detection, and affinity-based assays. (PEO)4 represents a PEG (polyethylene glycol) spacer with four ethylene oxide units. PEG spacers enhance solubility, reduce non-specific interactions, and provide flexibility between the biotin tag and the reactive group. Propionic Hydrazide is a reactive group that can form hydrazone bonds with aldehyde or ketone groups. It is used for conjugating or labeling molecules containing these functional groups. This compound is used for specific labeling, biochemical assays, protein and peptide conjugation, and biosensor development.
