Description

Biotin SE (Biotin, succinimidyl ester) consists of biotin linked to a succinimidyl ester group. The succinimidyl ester is reactive towards primary amines under mild aqueous conditions. Biotin SE is primarily used for biotinylation of proteins and peptides. The NHS ester reacts with the primary amines of lysine residues or the N-terminus of proteins, resulting in the attachment of biotin to the molecule. It can also label nucleic acids or oligonucleotides containing primary amines. Biotinylated nucleic acids are used in applications such as hybridization assays, affinity purification, and detection of DNA/RNA complexes.
