Biotin-tyramide is a bioconjugate that combines biotin, known for its strong affinity to streptavidin, with tyramine, a compound often used in enzyme catalysis and signal amplification. Tyramide is an aromatic compound with a hydroxyl group and an amine group, which can serve as a substrate for peroxidase enzymes. This feature is key for signal amplification in immunohistochemistry.
