Description

Biotinyl-Amylin (mouse, rat) is a biotinylated form of the amylin peptide derived from mice and rats. Amylin, also known as islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP), is a hormone co-secreted with insulin by pancreatic β-cells. It plays a role in glycemic regulation by inhibiting glucagon secretion, slowing gastric emptying, and promoting satiety. Biotinyl-Amylin is used to study the role of amylin in the pathophysiology of diabetes, particularly type 2 diabetes, where amylin aggregates are associated with β-cell dysfunction.
