Description

Biotinylated-JQ1 (Biotin-JQ1) refers to a modified form of JQ1, a small molecule inhibitor of bromodomain and extra-terminal (BET) proteins, which has been chemically conjugated with biotin. JQ1 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of BET bromodomains, which are epigenetic readers involved in the regulation of gene transcription. JQ1 binds competitively to the acetyl-lysine binding pocket of BET bromodomains, preventing their interaction with acetylated histones. This inhibits transcription of genes associated with oncogenesis and inflammatory pathways. Streptavidin-coated beads or plates can bind specifically to biotinylated-JQ1, allowing for affinity purification of BET proteins or JQ1-interacting complexes from cell lysates or in vitro systems.
