Description

Bis-NHS-functionalized TCO is a chemical compound that combines the reactivity of trans-cyclooctene (TCO) with two N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester groups. The NHS esters enable covalent attachment to primary amines (such as lysine residues in proteins), while the TCO group allows for further bioorthogonal reactions with tetrazine-functionalized molecules. The presence of two NHS ester groups allows Bis-NHS-TCO to functionalize biomolecules at multiple sites, making it ideal for crosslinking applications or for creating multivalent conjugates. These dual functional groups can attach to different parts of a protein or even link different proteins or molecules together, enabling the study of protein-protein interactions or the design of multifunctional therapeutic agents.
