Bis-PEG17-acid can be used as a PEGylation reagent to modify bioactive molecules for pharmaceutical and biotechnological applications. The carboxylic acid groups of bis-PEG1-acid can undergo chemical conjugation reactions with amino groups (-NH₂) of biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, or antibodies. This bioconjugation process, known as PEGylation, can improve the pharmacokinetics, stability, and solubility of biomolecules, thereby enhancing their therapeutic efficacy and reducing immunogenicity.
