Description

C16-NCA refers to a compound with the structure of a 16-carbon atom chain attached to an NCA (N-carboxyanhydride) group. NCA is a cyclic anhydride of an amino acid, often used in polymer chemistry to create polyamides. The general structure of an NCA is a five-membered ring with alternating carbonyl and nitrogen atoms. C16-NCA can be used as a monomer in the synthesis of polyamides or poly(amide-imide)s. The 16-carbon chain provides a significant length to the polymer chain, affecting its properties such as flexibility, melting point, and mechanical strength.
