Calcitriol Lactone ((23S,25R)-1α,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 26,23-lactone) is formed by the intramolecular cyclization of calcitriol, resulting in a lactone ring structure. Calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3) is the active form of vitamin D3, featuring a steroidal structure with hydroxyl groups at the 1 and 25 positions. Calcitriol lactone binds to the vitamin D receptor (VDR), a nuclear receptor that regulates the expression of genes involved in calcium and phosphate homeostasis. Activation of VDR by calcitriol lactone can lead to the transcription of target genes that control calcium absorption, bone formation, and immune responses. This product is available in kilograms.
