Carbocyclic Thromboxane A2 ([2S-[2α(Z),3β(1E,3R*)]]-7-[3-(3-Hydroxy-1-octenyl)bicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-yl]-5-heptenoic Acid / (5Z)-7-[(2S,3R)-3-[(1E,3S)-3-Hydroxy-1-octen-1-yl]bicyclo[3.1.1]hept-2-yl]-5-heptenoic Acid / CTA2 / Carbocyclic TxA2) is a synthetic analog of thromboxane A2 (TXA₂), a potent vasoconstrictor and promoter of platelet aggregation. Carbocyclic Thromboxane A2 is used to study vasoconstriction mechanisms and the role of thromboxane A2 in regulating blood vessel tone. As a stable analog, Carbocyclic Thromboxane A2 can be used in the development of drugs targeting thromboxane receptors.
