Description

Carboxylic Acid-Doxorubicin Liposome (PEGylated) refers to a modified formulation of doxorubicin, where the drug is encapsulated within liposomes, and the liposome surface is modified with polyethylene glycol (PEG). This modification is done to improve the drug’s pharmacokinetics, enhance its delivery to tumor tissues, and potentially reduce adverse effects. It is commonly used in the treatment of various cancers, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and Kaposi’s sarcoma. In addition, the PEGylation and encapsulation within liposomes enable prolonged circulation in the bloodstream and enhanced accumulation in tumor tissues through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect. This can improve the targeted delivery of doxorubicin to cancer cells.
