Description

Cationic Liposome containing DOTAP-NBD-DOPE is commonly utilized in the drug delivery system. The liposome can encapsulate hydrophilic drugs within their aqueous core and hydrophobic drugs within their lipid bilayer. This dual capability allows for the co-delivery of multiple therapeutic agents. The fluorescence of NBD provides a non-invasive method for tracking drug release profiles, biodistribution, and cellular uptake in both in vitro and in vivo models. For instance, this kind of liposome has been explored for delivering anticancer drugs to tumor tissues, where its cationic nature enhances accumulation at negatively charged tumor sites.
