Cholesterol-PEG-MAL (Cholesterol-PEG-Maleimide, CLS-PEG-MAL, Cholesterol-poly(ethylene glycol) is a thiol reactive amphiphile polymer. Cholesterol functionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG-CLS) is a lipophilic lipid PEG conjugate with good water solubility. PEG cholesterol derivatives can be used to make liposome to improve circulation time for encapsulated drugs. They may also be used for non-viral transfection reagents.
