Clethodim S-Methyl Sulfoxide (2-[1-[[(3-Chloro-2-propen-1-yl)oxy]imino]propyl]-3-hydroxy-5-[2-(methylsulfinyl)propyl]-2-cyclohexen-1-one) is an analog of Clethodim, with a sulfoxide functional group. Clethodim is a selective post-emergent herbicide with a structure based on a cyclohexanedione ring. It targets specific enzymes in certain weed species while being safe for most crops. The sulfoxide functional group can influence the compound’s chemical reactivity and biological activity. Clethodim and its derivatives, including Clethodim S-Methyl Sulfoxide, act as inhibitors of acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) in plants. ACCase is crucial for fatty acid biosynthesis, so its inhibition leads to disrupted growth and death of target weeds. Clethodim S-Methyl Sulfoxide can be used in formulations for controlling grassy weeds in broadleaf crops. It can be used directly or as part of a blend with other herbicides to enhance efficacy and reduce weed resistance. This product is available in kilograms.
