Description

CoPor-N3 (Cobalt porphyrin-N3) can be used in photodynamic therapy. Upon exposure to light of a specific wavelength, the cobalt porphyrin-N3 absorbs photons and transfers energy to molecular oxygen, generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as singlet oxygen. These ROS can induce cell death in targeted cancer cells or bacteria, making PDT a potential treatment for various diseases. Due to their selective binding properties and sensitivity to specific analytes, cobalt porphyrin-N3 derivatives can be used in the development of sensors and biosensors. The interaction between cobalt porphyrin-N3 and target molecules can be monitored through changes in absorbance, fluorescence, or electrochemical signals, allowing for the detection of analytes in complex biological or environmental samples.
