Description

Cy2 PEG Biotin is used for fluorescent labeling of biomolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, and antibodies. The CY2 fluorophore provides green fluorescence, allowing for visualization and detection in fluorescence microscopy and imaging techniques. In addition, CY2 PEG Biotin-labeled antibodies are used in flow cytometry for the detection and analysis of specific cell surface markers or intracellular proteins. The fluorescence signal from CY2 facilitates high-throughput analysis of cellular populations. CY2 is a green-fluorescent dye that is part of the cyanine dye family. It emits light in the green spectrum upon excitation with an appropriate light source, such as a laser or specific wavelength of light. Biotin serves as a high-affinity ligand for streptavidin or avidin proteins, enabling specific binding and detection of biotinylated molecules. PEG is a flexible, hydrophilic polymer chain used as a spacer arm to separate the biotin molecule from the fluorophore. The PEG linker enhances the solubility and accessibility of the biotin tag.
