Description

dA(Bz) Polystyrene Resin is used as a starting material in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, which is a method for assembling DNA or RNA strands one nucleotide at a time. The nucleoside attached to the resin forms the first nucleotide of the oligonucleotide chain. The synthesis process involves the stepwise addition of protected nucleotides (A, T, C, G for DNA) to the growing chain. After the oligonucleotide synthesis is complete, the final oligonucleotide is cleaved from the resin and the protecting groups (such as the Bz on dA) are removed. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
