Description

dA(Bz) Polystyrene Resin consists of a cross-linked polystyrene matrix, which serves as the solid phase to anchor the growing oligonucleotide chain. Polystyrene resins are widely used in both peptide and nucleotide synthesis because of their chemical stability and ability to swell in organic solvents, allowing efficient reactions during synthesis. The nucleoside attached to the resin is deoxyadenosine (dA), one of the four nucleosides used in DNA synthesis. The benzoyl (Bz) group is used to protect the exocyclic amino group at the C6 position of deoxyadenosine during synthesis. Protecting groups are crucial in oligonucleotide synthesis to prevent undesired side reactions. dA(Bz) Polystyrene Resin is a critical tool in solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, enabling the synthesis of oligonucleotides with benzoyl-protected deoxyadenosine.
