DBCO-Amine (DBCO-NH2, Dibenzocyclooctyne-Amine) refers to a chemical compound composed of Dibenzylcyclooctyne (DBCO) functional group attached to an amine group. DBCO is highly reactive with azides through a copper-free click chemistry reaction known as strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC). Amines are commonly used in bioconjugation reactions due to their reactivity with various functional groups such as carboxylic acids, activated esters, and aldehydes. DBCO-Amine selectively reacts with azides in biological systems through a copper-free click chemistry reaction, enabling specific labeling and modification of biomolecules in complex cellular environments.
