Description

DBCO-PC-4 arm PEG is a multifunctional, branched polyethylene glycol (PEG) molecule that incorporates dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO) and pyridyldithio (PC) groups. DBCO is a strain-promoted alkyne that is highly reactive in copper-free click chemistry reactions, particularly with azide groups. This reactivity makes DBCO useful for bioorthogonal chemistry, where it allows for the conjugation of molecules in living systems without interfering with natural biochemical processes. DBCO-PC-4 arm PEG can be used for bioorthogonal conjugation via SPAAC reactions, which do not require a copper catalyst. This allows for the attachment of azide-functionalized biomolecules, such as proteins, peptides, or antibodies, to the PEG scaffold in a living system without toxicity. This property is particularly useful in labeling, imaging, and drug delivery applications.
