Description

DBCO-PEG12-para-phenylboronic acid is a click chemistry reagent with a DBCO group and a terminal Phenyl boronic acid. Para-phenylboronic acid contains a boronic acid functional group attached to a phenyl ring. Boronic acids are known for their ability to form reversible covalent complexes with diols, such as those found in sugars, nucleotides, and glycoproteins. DBCO-PEG12-para-phenylboronic acid can be used to selectively label glycoproteins. The boronic acid moiety forms reversible covalent complexes with the cis-diol groups present in the carbohydrate residues of glycoproteins. This allows for the specific attachment of the compound to glycoproteins, enabling their detection, purification, or immobilization.
