Description

DBCO-PEG2-Val-Cit-PAB-Exatecan is a molecular construct that combines a reactive DBCO group for bioconjugation, a PEG spacer for improved pharmacokinetics, a peptide linker for controlled drug release, and the anticancer drug Exatecan. Dibenzocyclooctyne (DBCO) is a reactive functional group commonly used in bioconjugation chemistry. It participates in copper-free click chemistry reactions, specifically azide-alkyne cycloaddition reactions (known as strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition or SPAAC). DBCO can react selectively with azide-functionalized molecules or surfaces. Exatecan (also known as DX-8951) is a camptothecin derivative, a type of cytotoxic chemotherapy agent. It inhibits topoisomerase I activity, leading to DNA damage and apoptosis in cancer cells.
