Description

Dde Biotin-PEG4-azide is a compound useful for introducing a biotin moiety to alkyne-containing biomolecules using Cu(I)-catalyzed Click Chemistry. Dde (1-(4,4-dimethyl-2,6-dioxocyclohex-1-ylidene)ethyl) is a protecting group used in organic synthesis. It is commonly employed to temporarily block the amino group (NH2) of a molecule, preventing undesired reactions at that site. The azide functional group (-N3) is a highly reactive moiety commonly used in bioorthogonal chemistry, particularly in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions. Azides can selectively react with alkynes in the presence of a copper catalyst, forming stable triazole linkages.
