Dextran is a complex branched polysaccharide derived from the fermentation of sucrose by certain bacteria. It is composed of glucose subunits linked together by glycosidic bonds. Rhodamine B is a fluorescent dye belonging to the family of xanthene dyes. It is commonly used as a fluorescent tracer in biological research and diagnostics due to its bright red-orange fluorescence when excited by light in the visible spectrum.
