dNTP-TCO (2′-Deoxyribonucleoside triphosphate-trans-cyclooctene) enables the creation of DNA conjugates through bio-orthogonal chemistry, where the TCO-modified DNA can be reacted with tetrazine-conjugated biomolecules such as proteins, peptides, or nanoparticles. Additionally, the high specificity and fast kinetics of the IEDDA reaction between TCO and tetrazines make dNTP-TCO useful for super-resolution microscopy techniques such as STORM or PALM.
