DOTA-PEG5-azide comprises a polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer with five ethylene glycol units and an azide functional group, which is highly reactive towards alkyne groups in click chemistry reactions. The addition of the azide group to DOTA (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid) allows for the conjugation of various molecules, such as fluorophores, imaging agents, or targeting ligands, to form stable and specific bioconjugates.
