Description

DOTA-TZ-BisRGD targets αvβ3 integrins, which are highly expressed on the surface of many tumor cells and angiogenic blood vessels. When labeled with a radiometal through the DOTA chelator, DOTA-Tz-BisRGD enables high-resolution imaging of tumors using PET or SPECT. This precise imaging capability helps in accurately detecting and localizing tumors, which is crucial for early diagnosis and treatment planning. In addition, the αvβ3 integrin is also involved in angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels that tumors often exploit for growth. DOTA-Tz-BisRGD can be used to visualize and assess the extent of angiogenesis in tumors and other pathological conditions. This helps in evaluating the efficacy of anti-angiogenic therapies and understanding the mechanisms of vascular remodeling.
