DOTAM-mono-acid (1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-tri(carbamoylmethyl)-10-acetic acid) complexes are commonly used as contrast agents in MRI due to their ability to shorten the longitudinal relaxation time (T1) of surrounding water molecules, leading to enhanced signal intensity in T1-weighted images. DOTAM-mono-acid could be used as a precursor for the synthesis of gadolinium-DOTA complexes to develop MRI contrast agents with improved imaging properties.
