Description

Doxorubicin Liposomes (PEGylated), Lyophilized Powder are a liposomal drug delivery system (DDS) that offers several advantages over traditional doxorubicin. In this formulation, doxorubicin is loaded into the liposome’s aqueous core or integrated into the lipid bilayer, where it is shielded from the bloodstream and healthy tissues, potentially reducing off-target effects. Doxorubicin, also known by brand names such as Adriamycin, is a potent chemotherapy drug widely used in the treatment of various cancers, including breast cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, ovarian cancer, sarcoma, and gastric cancer. It belongs to the class of drugs called anthracyclines, which work by inhibiting the enzyme topoisomerase II and interfering with DNA replication and transcription.
