1,2-Distearoyl-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphoethanolamine (DSPE)-polyethylene glycol-dibenzocycolctyne (DSPE-PEG-DBCO) is a phospholipid-PEG polymer that can be used to form micelles as lipid nanoparticles for drug delivery. DSPE lipid molecule, and a DBCO functional group is introduced to the PEG portion. This conjugation combines the stability provided by DSPE with the circulation-enhancing properties of PEGylation. The incorporation of the DBCO group adds the ability to participate in bioorthogonal click chemistry reactions.
