1,2-Distearoyl-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphoethanolamine (DSPE) and NBD (nitrobenzofurazan) conjugated Polyethylene Glycol (DSPE-PEG-NBD) is a compound formed by combining 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DSPE), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and a nitrobenzoxadiazole (NBD) fluorophore. DSPE is a phospholipid that is often used to form lipid bilayers and liposomes. It contains both hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions, allowing it to integrate into lipid membranes. NBD is a fluorescent dye with emission in the green to yellow range when excited by specific wavelengths of light. It is widely used as a probe to study molecular dynamics, lipid behavior, and interactions in biological membranes.
