Description

1,2-Distearoyl-sn-Glycero-3-Phosphoethanolamine (DSPE) conjugated polyethylene glycol with active succinimidyl ester (DSPE-PEG-NHS) is a reactive phospholipid PEG conjugates that can react with primary amine groups. DSPE is an 18 carbon phospholipid that is highly hydrophobic. PEG offers good hydrophilicity and water solubility. NHS on the other PEG terminal reacts with primary amine groups efficiently at pH 8~10. Therefore, DSPE-PEG-NHS can be easily incorporated into liposome and other nanoparticles via the reaction of NHS and amine. It is one of most commonly used reactive phospholipids to conjugate antibodies, proteins, peptides or other substrates to the surface of liposome and other lipid PEG nanoparticles.
