EDA-m7GTP-Biotin (2’/3′-O-(2-Aminoethyl-carbamoyl)-N7-methyl-guanosine-5′-triphosphate – Biotin, Triethylammonium salt) is a modified nucleotide, specifically a derivative of guanosine triphosphate (GTP), which is conjugated to biotin through an EDA (ethylenediamine) linker. The “m7” indicates a methylation at the 7th nitrogen position of the guanine base, making it a 7-methylguanosine (m7G). m7GTP is a key component of the 5′ cap of eukaryotic mRNA. EDA-m7GTP-Biotin can be used to study the binding of proteins to the mRNA cap structure.
