Electrospun PLA/Silk Fibroin-Gelatin Composite Nanofibrous Scaffold can serve as a scaffold for bone regeneration. PLA provides mechanical support, while silk fibroin and gelatin mimic the ECM composition of bone tissue, promoting osteogenic differentiation of stem cells and new bone formation. The nanofibrous structure facilitates cell infiltration and vascularization, crucial for successful bone regeneration. It can also be tailored for cartilage regeneration applications. Silk fibroin and gelatin offer chondroinductive properties, promoting the differentiation of chondrocytes and the production of cartilage-specific extracellular matrix components. The scaffold’s mechanical properties can be optimized to match those of native cartilage tissue.
