Description

endo-BCN-OH belongs to the class of bicyclic compounds and contains an alcohol functional group (-OH) attached to the bicyclic ring system. The “endo” designation indicates that the hydroxyl group is located on the endo face of the bicyclic ring system. Endo-BCN-OH can participate in click chemistry reactions, particularly in copper-free azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reactions with azide-containing compounds. This reaction forms stable triazole linkages and is widely used in bioconjugation, polymer synthesis, and material science. It can also be incorporated into polymer chains through polymerization reactions, such as radical polymerization or ring-opening polymerization, to introduce pendant functionalities or crosslinking sites into polymers. This can lead to the formation of functionalized polymers with enhanced properties for coatings, adhesives, or biomedical applications.
