Description

endo-BCN-PEG2-acrylate is a compound consisting of an endo-bicyclo[6.1.0]non-4-yn-9-amine (BCN) moiety linked to a polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain terminated with an acrylate functional group. The BCN group in endo-BCN-PEG2-acrylate can undergo strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with azide-containing molecules. This reaction is bioorthogonal, meaning it can occur selectively in biological systems without interfering with native biomolecular functionalities. Endo-BCN-PEG2-acrylate can be used for bioconjugation and labeling applications, such as attaching fluorophores, drugs, or targeting ligands to biomolecules or surfaces. In addition, the acrylate group in endo-BCN-PEG2-acrylate can participate in crosslinking reactions with other polymer chains containing complementary functional groups, such as hydroxyl or thiol groups.
